NaNoWriMo: Day 15

Word Count: 25,016 words

Magically, I am still on track and crossed the halfway mark today!

I will admit, this has been more of a struggle than I anticipated, mostly because some days I just lack the time and motivation to write. My schedule was more hectic last year-- full-time student with a full-time job-- but I usually had evenings off. This year, I'm only contending with full-time work, but my hours are getting the best of me. I wake up most days at 5:45 to 6am and don't get home until 8pm or so. I have to make dinner, walk the dog, get ready for the next day... and by the time I have a few minutes to write, I just want to sleep.

I won't give in, though. This was about the time that I caved last year, and I am proud to note that, despite my exhaustion, I will persevere!

How is everyone else doing with NaNo? Well, I hope.

Bedtime now. Until tomorrow!

NaNoWriMo: Day 13

Word Count: 21,751 words

It's been a few days since I've blogged. Three days, to be exact. I am still on track, though, so fear not! I did struggle for a few days. This week was a bit difficult. Between meetings during my lunch breaks and arriving home from work exhausted, I was only at about 18k last night when I got home. I hung out with a friend yesterday, which was VERY necessary for my sanity, but it meant that I wrote nothing until I arrived home (a measly 350 words) and then promptly passed out. A few nights ago, I literally fell asleep WHILE writing. How pathetic.

I had today off, though, and spent most of it jumping between writing and watching my dear husband-to-be play Batman: Arkham City. I actually had to switch from typing out the story on my laptop to writing in my notebook because I was so easily distracted by the interwebs, but as you can see by my word count, I've managed to drag myself back into the game.

I'm hanging out with my mom and some family tomorrow, but hopefully I will have some time to write. I may try to write more tonight, but after tearing through over 3k (that much in one day is a feat for me), who knows.
For those of you doing NaNo, I hope you're doing well!

Until tomorrow!

NaNoWriMo: Day 9

Word Count: 15,174 words

It's been a rough two days. As predicted, I did not get much of a lunch on Tuesday, so I was only able to scribble down a hundred, maybe two hundred words after surgery finally finished. I didn't catch up last night, either-- I ended the night with around 12,800 words when the word goal to stay on track was 13,336 words. It's okay, though. I caught up today and ended the day with a little over 15,000 words.

Sadly, I won't have much of a lunch break tomorrow, either. I am in charge of inventory at work, and we have a lunch meet with a pharmaceutical rep. I think the day is going to be slow (fingers crossed), so maybe I'll be able to jot down at least a bit throughout the day. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until the weekend to catch up, as I work all day again Friday. Day jobs suck.

I'm a bit stuck again with the story. I really dislike the last scene I wrote, but I don't want to spend precious time trying to revamp it at the moment. I just worry that it will effect other scenes and the overall plot. If there WAS a plot. Nothing is going as planned. But oh well. I guess that's part of the fun.

That's all for now! I need to walk my pup and then get to bed!

Until tomorrow!

NaNoWriMo: Day 7

Word Count: 12,423 words

This will be a quick update... not because I have nothing to say, but because today was somewhat taxing and I am exhausted.

I almost hit 12.5k when only 11,669 was needed to make the daily cut. This is especially awesome because I am on surgery tomorrow, which means it's very possible I won't get much of a lunch break. I am still going to bring my notebook and hope for the best.

I did realize today, though, that I have aboslutely no idea where this plot is going. Which is fine. It will lead it's own way. But it's a bit disconcerting. My fear is that I'll enter week three and go, "Uh, what now? I have no idea." I guess I'll have to tackle that problem when I get there, though.

Until tomorrow!
